Baggage Policy

Baggage Policy

Do you have a flight booked on AirTicketo? You should check out the baggage policy in advance before starting to pack your stuff. Knowing the baggage limitations will ensure a seamless navigation through the airport.

At AirTicketo, we aim to make your journey as seamless as possible. Since we work with multiple airlines worldwide, baggage allowances and policies vary by carrier and fare type.

Please read the guidelines below to understand what to expect. Always double-check your specific airline’s baggage rules before departure.

Types of Baggage

As mentioned, the baggage allowance varies based on your selected airline or travel class. However, there are some common luggage types that are accepted on almost all airlines.

1. Cabin Baggage (Carry-On)

Many airlines allow carry-on bags and personal items on the flight. These bags are permitted to be brought into the flight cabin. Depending on the airline you choose, you may have to pay for these bags.

  • Typical Allowance: One carry-on bag + one personal item (handbag, laptop bag, etc.).
  • Size Limits: Generally, the size should not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 7.5 in).
  • Weight Limits: Usually 7–10 kg (15–22 lbs), depending on the airline.

Budget carriers may only allow a personal item unless you pay for a cabin bag or priority boarding.

2. Checked Baggage

Checked baggage is not allowed in the cabin and is stored in the baggage hold.

  • Allowance Varies by Airline: Most airlines include at least one checked bag with international flights, but many low-cost or basic fares do not.
  • Weight Limits: Generally, the weight limit is between 20 kg and 32 kg (44–70 lbs) per bag.
  • Size Limits: Typically, total dimensions (L+W+H) should not be more than 158 cm (62 in).
  • Excess Baggage Fees: Charges apply for overweight, oversized, or extra bags. These vary by airline.

Tip: When booking, check the baggage information listed under the fare summary. Some deals may offer a baggage upgrade at a discount.

3. Special Baggage

If you are traveling with special baggage, you may have to inform the airline in advance. Moreover, you may be charged an additional fee to travel with a special item. Some special items include-

  • Sports equipment (skis, golf clubs, surfboards)
  • Musical instruments
  • Medical equipment or mobility aids

Connect with an airline in advance, and bring your special item easily on the flight.

4. Oversized and Overweight Baggage

Airlines also allow you to travel with oversized and overweight bags. However, there is an additional fee if you are flying with a bag exceeding the size and weight limitations.

Baggage allowance varies depending on your selected airline, travel class, and destination. We highly recommend you check out the airline’s specific baggage policy in advance for a seamless experience.

Changes in Baggage Rules

Baggage policies can change without prior notice. AirTicketo is not responsible for changes made by the airline after ticket issuance. We highly recommend:

  • Reviewing the airline’s baggage policy before traveling
  • Printing or saving your ticket and baggage confirmation
  • Arriving early if checking bulky or oversized items
